Centre for Diverse Learning: Special Education for Exceptional Students
Associated Hebrew Schools, through the Centre for Diverse Learning (CDL), is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment. We actively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure that every student’s unique needs are met within the most inclusive setting possible.
Continuum of Support
AHS offers a range of educational services designed to support students with diverse learning needs. Our goal is to provide tailored instruction that considers each child’s cognitive, social, emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual development.
Our Approach
We take a personalized approach to student learning by:
- Identifying students’ strengths, needs, and learning preferences.
- Allocating appropriate resources to support instruction.
- Providing timely intervention, review, and feedback to ensure success.
Students with learning needs are supported in regular classrooms through instructional, environmental, and assessment accommodations. Differentiated instruction is embedded into teaching practices, allowing all students to thrive.
Specialized assistance
For students requiring more intensive support, the CDL team collaborates with classroom teachers to design and implement targeted interventions. Our educators work closely with students to develop strategies that foster academic and personal growth.
Enrichment programs
Students excelling in specific areas benefit from differentiated instruction through open-ended tasks, critical thinking challenges, and concept application. Specialized enrichment programs provide additional opportunities for intellectual growth and engagement.
Wellness and Social-Emotional Learning
At AHS, we recognize that student success is not only measured academically but also by social-emotional well-being. We are committed to fostering a school culture that supports mental health and personal growth.
